Activant meets demand from industry for access to more IT training
March 2006 –Activant Solutions is celebrating the success of its online Virtual Classroom initiative with an extended number of training dates in 2006.
Virtual Classroom is designed to help eradicate the aftermarket skills shortage and instil confidence and understanding of IT products. It is proving extremely popular to aftermarket businesses – garages, motor factors and suppliers – as training is carried out in real time over the internet, providing significant cost benefits to users. The ability to maximise IT investment by “remote” training across all Activant products is a key benefit which all Activant customers can enjoy.
New classes in 2006 are available on Activant’s T-21 distributor management system, MasterCat e-cataloguing tool and the web-based trading platform AConneX.
All training courses are free of charge to Activant customers and structured around a customer’s specific business model. Each training session is approximately one to two hours long with the opportunity to ask questions throughout.
Using Virtual Classroom is simple: Users log in via a weblink and then witness the classroom presenter demonstrate how a specific IT product functions and, the features it has available.
With no time delay thanks to ‘real time’ connectivity, Virtual Classroom is capable of one-to-one tuition or tutoring many pupils, as appropriate. The training lesson can also be recorded and sent to the pupils as a future reference point.
Jeff McCormick of Northdown Motor Factors, said: “The Virtual Classroom training experience is well worth doing. It gives you time to ask questions and be shown how to do different tasks, ensuring we get the most benefit from our Activant products.”
